Since the opening one of the largest and newest recreation center on Colorado’s Western Slope late January 2017, the community of Montrose, Colorado now has a great place for the residents to come together. The Black Canyon-Inspired Indoor Climbing Wall is 27 feet tall with 12 anchors. This allows families and children to enjoy the challenge of climbing and even offers the opportunity to earn a certification. The Leisure Pool area features a large water playground with slides, dumping buckets, and spraying features for the younger children. There are three 50-foot lap lanes that are set aside for adult classes and water sports such as pool volleyball and basketball, lap swimming, and water walking.

There is a “Lazy River” with vortex and even a super fun two-story winding water slide. We are far from being done explaining the accessible features of our new beloved Montrose Community Recreation Center in Montrose. The Child Watch area allows parents to drop off their kids with ease-of-mind so they can get their workout in. The weight room & fitness center offers multiple pieces of cardio equipment, circuit training equipment, and free weights, and also offers and indoor and outdoor track and group fitness classes. The gym area has 3 courts for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and FitZone classes. It also has outdoor climbing boulders, outdoor pickleball courts, and Racquetball.

There are two Party Rooms for people to rent for birthday parties or other gatherings. One of the party rooms adjoin into the leisure pool for the pool parties and both party rooms are located next to the kids Indoor Playground. The game room features pool tables, foosball tables, ping pong tables, and shuffleboard table.
